Jay Towery has built his career on solving problems. As a member of MTB’s sales team, and supervisor of the remodel and renovation department, he designs and manages the installation of new and retrofit heating and air conditioning systems for high-end homes. “I’m a people person, and I enjoy solving problems for our customers,” he says. “Rarely do I run into the same problem twice! It makes my job interesting, and every day is different.”
Originally from Gulfport, Mississippi, Jay headed north after Hurricane Katrina. He has been in the heating and air business for 20 years, the last eight with MTB. “What I enjoy most about our company is the focus on the design of the entire home,” he explains. “We look at everything that plays into the heating and air side of things. Design is a science. I’m interested in how homes live and breathe.”
As busy as his days are on the job, Jay says he always has time for family. His two sons are ages 19 and three, which keeps him active and on his toes. In addition, Jay is a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and enjoys the opportunity to mentor a nine-year-old boy. “My Little Brother and I go to lunch every week and have a great time,” he says. “I’ve always learned by doing, and I hope to set a strong example for all the young people in my life.”
